Live To Love November 2008
Feeding the homeless in
Once again last Sunday, we went to feed the homeless. There were many of them and two of us so we were quite busy. One of them was quite old, we gave him some hot soup and hot bread and butter which he received with a spark in his eyes. Then we talked with him a long time, he enjoyed our company I think. It was quite lovely actually to speak with him, he had no much teeth left, so to understand him well, we had to be quite close to him; it felt as though he was an old friend or a member of the family, it was a special moment, a warm friendly conversation despite the outer cold.
When we left he said ‘lots of love’. We continued giving to every homeless we could find there and then went home, happy.
It’s clear that the homeless now need warm clothes as well as food, so if you are in London, could you please go through your wardrobe and bring any warm coats, scarves, gloves, hats or jumpers that you don’t need or money to contribute to a big shopping. Thanks Pelmo x
