Yangti
Padmasambhava (the 'Lotus Born')
His Holiness taught us that this particular practice is the practice of Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava, combined with Avalokiteshvara and Amitabha. Amitabha is Dharmakaya, Avalokiteshvara is Sambhogakaya, and Guru Rinpoche is Nirmanakaya - Kaya being the form or body.
The mantra:
OM AH HOUNG BENZA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HOUNG
His Holiness explains that “the main purpose of reciting mantras is to be reminded to be back in nature – harmony between nature and yourself. The main point of the recitation is to meditate on harmony. Vajra Guru is a representation of yourself and Padma Siddhi represents nature. So you are building a harmonious relationship between yourself and nature. Vajra Guru is also the masculine energy and Padma Siddhi the feminine energy. These two energies are the two major energies of the universe in keeping harmonious. This is the reason why when you recite mantras you should meditate in harmony. “
